Orpheus and Eurydice

Hatake Kakashi has never been the most sociable person. He barely knows his next door neighbor at all until the day she offers to lend him a book. But he's so glad she did. Kakashi never thought he could come to care about someone so quickly. Now if he could only convince his students to accept Yui as well, maybe they can start to really get somewhere. Okazaki Yui has long since learned that the safest place to be was in the shadows. Her sister and her students were all she ever needed. But the way that Kakashi looks at her has her reconsidering. She's always admired Kakashi, and his attention is fanning those feelings into something truly life altering. But the darkness of her past isn't an easy thing to escape. In this world, there has been no Kyuubi Attack, no Uchiha Massacre. But that doesn't mean Konoha is safe. And the relationship blossoming between Yui and Kakashi just might lead to the death of them both.
