As Konoha rebuilds after Orochimaru's invasion, Team 7 receives a mission to investigate recent mercenary activity and verify if the mercenaries pose a threat to Konoha's security. The investigation uncovers something much more strange going on in the area, but they can't afford to take the time to dig into it right away. At least, not until they have more intel and a secondary mission is assigned—one which will force new boyfriends Kakashi and Iruka to get much closer on a much tighter schedule than they planned.While Kakashi focuses on missions and his developing relationship with Iruka, he tangles with his own personal demons. Tsunade and his friends are putting pressure on him to address his self-harm, no longer content to let it slide. With new leadership in Konoha and a particular missing-nin resurfacing, Kakashi has the opportunity to shine a light on the dark history of transphobia in Konoha and finally make long-needed changes.
